Our History

John H. Mack and his son, Kevin Mack, have been serving the families of the Greater Gardner area since 1967, Leominster since 2005, and the North Quabbin communities since 1998.  Kevin grew up above his father’s funeral home, the John H. Mack Funeral Home in Gardner and held an apprentice’s license since his teen years until becoming a licensed funeral director in 1992. Kevin was entrusted with the Fiske Funeral Home in Athol upon Mr. Fiske's retirement in 1998 and in 2011 he opened the newly constructed Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home. The newest addition to The Mack Family Funeral Homes is Higgins-O’Connor Funeral Home in Athol which was acquired in 2015.

The Mack Family Funeral Home staff has years of experience caring for families and their loved ones. We strive for perfection in arranging services to celebrate life in a personal and appropriate way. We are privileged to have earned the confidence and trust of families whom we have served.
