Victor P Yablonski

Victor P. Yablonski, 71, a lifelong resident of Gardner, Massachusetts, passed away on July 28, 2026. Born on October 29, 1954 in Gardner, MA, Victor was an adventurous spirit with a love for cars, MOPAR, and the thrill of four-wheeling. As an avid supporter of all New England and Boston sports teams, he carried the spirit of competition and courage with him in all aspects of his life, including completing 11 Boston Marathon's.
Victor was a dedicated professional who spent his career ensuring the safety and security of his community. After serving the Gardner Police Department, he spent a decade at NCCI Gardner, and then devoted 20 years at MCI Shirley as the Director of Classification in the Department of Corrections. His work was characterized by courage and dedication, a testament to his adventurous spirit and unwavering commitment to his field. His favorite quote echoed his life's philosophy, "Courage is not having the strength to go on; it is going on when you don't have the strength."Despite his many achievements, what mattered most to Victor was his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Cathy, his daughter Angela, his grandchildren Lana and Jakob, his brother Peter, his sister Phyllis, many nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Yablonski, his brother Joseph Yablonski, his nephews Travis and Peter, his mother and father-in-law Paul and Vivian and his sister-in-law Emilie and brother-in-law Tim. In his retirement, Victor could often be found at car shows, sharing his love for automobiles with fellow enthusiasts or cheering on his favorite sports teams. He was an outstanding athlete himself, a testament to his adventurous nature and courageous heart. We invite you to share your memories of Victor and upload photos to his memorial page.
