TEMPLETON - Thomas E. May,95, died Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Heywood Hospital in Gardner.
He was born in Flushing, New York on August 21, 1927, a son of the late Earl May and Alice (Blaser) May. He lived in New York until age 5 moving to Templeton and then to Hubbardston where he grew up on a small dairy farm. Mr. May was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He worked for several painting contractors before working in maintenance at Burbank Hospital in Fitchburg for many years. He had an artistic talent and enjoyed painting landscapes and wildlife until his death. He was a hard worker and was always busy working and helping others. That and his belief that life was good kept him healthy for 95 years. He will be greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his wife of over 63 years, Dorothy (Campbell) May who passed in 2014.
He leaves one daughter, Debby of Templeton; one son, Bob of Templeton; one grandson, Benjamin, and his significant other, Katie; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Louise May, and a brother, Walter May.
A memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Thomas's memory be made to the Salvation Army or the Templeton Food Pantry.
