ROSE T. (BOSCO) AMEDIO ORANGE, MA- Rose T. (Bosco) Amedio, 88, of 383 East River Street, died Sunday Sept. 29, 2002 in UMass Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, following a brief illness. Her husband of 46 years, Carlo A. Amedio, died in 1984. She leaves a son, Michael C. Amedio of Leominster; a daughter, Dolores A. Piragis of Athol; two sisters, Severina Kaczmarczyk of Athol and Elizabeth Chiasson of Orange; three grandchildren: Mark C. Amedio of Castro Valley, California, Ann M. Piragis of Gardner and Deborah M. Piragis of Oakham; two great-grandchildren, Ginger Rose Amedio and Carlo A. Amedio; and several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a sister, Tena Lopane, and four brothers, Andy Bosco, Joseph Bosco, Charles Bosco, and Tony Bosco. She was born in Athol, Aug. 1, 1914, daughter of Saverio and Anastasia (DeFazio) Bosco, and was a lifelong resident of the Athol-Orange area. Mrs. Amedio was a home health aide for Catholic Charities for several years. In her younger years, she operated her own business, selling men's and ladies apparel out of her home. She was a communicant of Our Lady Immaculate Church in Athol and a member of the former Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed cooking and caring for others, and especially loved music. At one time, she was involved in theater, and enjoyed acting in local area plays. The funeral will be held Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002 from the J. Edward Murphy Funeral Home, 137 Main Street, Athol, followed by a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School Street, Athol. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Cemetery.
