Gardner

Ladies and gentlemen, prepare your laughing muscles and wipe away those tears, as we remember the life of the one and only Ronald Lafarier. Born on the 20th of October, 1947 in Gardner, MA, he spent a whopping 78 years pulling pranks, cracking jokes, and dabbling in general tomfoolery. Ronald was a man who could hammer a nail with one hand, reel in a bass with the other, all while telling a joke that would have you doubled over in laughter. A carpenter by trade, he was as talented with a timber as he was with his tales. Mark Twain once said, "Humor is mankind's greatest blessing," and Ronald was our living, breathing proof.

Ronald was a generous soul, always ready to lend a hand, or a hammer, or a hilarious anecdote. He was a dedicated member of the Turnpike Club in Ashburnham, where his presence was as refreshing as a cold beer on a hot summer's day. His dedication also shone through in his love for fishing, a hobby that he claimed was "all about the peace and quiet, and occasionally swearing at the fish." His wit and wisdom will be missed at the club, on the water, and of course, in the heart of his beloved town, Gardner, Massachusetts.

He leaves behind his wife, Barbara Lafarier, a woman of saintly patience, Ronald was preceded in his great cosmic journey by his parents, Roy and Constance Lafarier. As we celebrate his life, let us remember the words of Charlie Chaplin, "A day without laughter is a day wasted," and with Ronald around, no day was ever wasted.

Mack Family Funeral Homes, Gardner - Chapel, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA, will be hosting a celebration of Ronald Lafarier's life full of laughter, love, and the occasional fish tale. We encourage all who knew Ronald to leave memories and upload photos to the memorial page. Each story, each picture, is another punchline in the grand joke that was Ronald's wonderfully full life.
