SAMPSON, Robert “Bob” of Westminster, MA, died peacefully on February 17, 2023, at the age of 88. Beloved husband for 65 years to his wife, Nancy Colbert Sampson. Loving father of Mary Kate Adami-Sampson (deceased) and her husband Michael Adami Sampson, Page Sampson and her husband Andrew Meyer, and Luess Sampson-Lizotte and her husband Craig Lizotte.

Treasured grandfather of Nicolas Adami-Sweet and his wife Bailey, Harrison, Sophia, and Christopher Adami-Sampson, Alexandra Meyer, and Jamieson Sampson-Lizotte, and cherished brother to Carol Sampson George (deceased) and Deborah Sampson.

Bob attended UMass Amherst where he was a member of the SAE fraternity and played on the football team. He graduated in 1957 and married Nancy later that same year.

Bob worked for Simonds Saw and Steel as an Inventory Control Manager for 30 years before joining his wife Nancy as a co-owner of their successful pottery business, The Tobacco Shed Pottery. He loved live theater and was an active member of the Stratton Players in Fitchburg, MA for over 20 years, performing in and directing numerous productions. An avid skier, Bob shared his passion with his whole family.

 Bob and Nancy also enjoyed traveling. Together they explored many locations across Europe, making friends and memories along the way. Bob was a firm believer in community service and held many positions in Westminster over the years, including on the Library Board of Trustees, the Board of Assessors, and as the Chair of the Westminster Caucus Committee.

Calling hours will be held at Mack Family Funeral Homes, 105 Central Street, GARDNER, MA on Saturday February 25, 1:00-4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in Bob’s name to help replace the original Stratton playhouse, which was destroyed by fire in 2011. Checks can be sent to Lucy’s Barn, Community Foundation of North Central Mass, 649 John Fitch Highway, Fitchburg, MA 01420.
