Gardner-Robert P. Needham, 80, died Monday, July 12, 2021 at his home after an illness. He was the husband of the late Euphemia (Hillis) Needham. Robert leaves two daughters, Sally Post and her husband John with whom he lived and Linda Brown and her husband Jason of Leominster; one son, Robert P. Needham Jr and his wife Jill of Fitchburg; six grandchildren, Amanda Shirley, Kristy Kraskouskas, Travis Preville, Cameron Brown, Connor Post and Anna Neeham; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Gallager and Audrey Gallager; one brother-in-law, Joe Ledger of Fitchburg and one niece, Michelle Desalvo of Fitchbug. He was born in Fitchburg on August 8, 1940 a son of the late Norman H. and Alexina Needham. He worked at KMart for many years as a janitor. He enjoyed watching movies, sitting on the porch and enjoying the sun and warm weather, old cars and his poker machine. He had a love of animals and especially loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Robert's funeral will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in the Lamoreaux-Smith-Poliks Chapel of the Mack Family Funeral Homes, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440, Calling hours will be from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home prior to the funeral. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Robert's name to the American Diabetes Association, 330 Congress Street, #501, Boston, MA 02210. The Mack Family Funeral Homes, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA has been entrusted with Mr. Needham's funeral arrangements. Kevin J. Mack and Walter C. Taylor, funeral directors
