Robert E. Gautreau

June 5, 1944 — June 22, 2022

BALDWINVILLE: Mr. Robert E. Gautreau, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Gardner on June 5, 1944, the son of the late Ernest Gautreau and Loretta (Chabot) Gautreau. He graduated from Gardner High School with the Class of 1962. Bob served in the National Guard and worked in healthcare at the Templeton Development Center until his retirement, and his work greatly influenced his daughters and their career choices. As a child and young adult, Bob enjoyed his family camp on Queen Lake and was a member of the Gardner and Fish and Game Club. As his children grew, Bob enjoyed spending summers at their cottage on York Beach where he took long walks on the beach, went fishing and boating, and brought home many lobsters. He was especially fond of spending time with his girls and their friends, and always made time for one more gag. He particularly enjoyed his time with lifelong friends hunting locally and in the woods of Northern Maine. Bob leaves his kind and devoted wife of 55 years, Karen (Pierce) Gautreau; and two daughters, Shelley Halkola and her husband Jim of Baldwinville who lovingly tended to him; Amy McAuliffe and her husband Jim of Cape Elizabeth, ME; and his beloved grandchildren, Laney, Ben and Katy, and his cherished pets. He also leaves behind his dear cousin Arlene, several nieces and nephews, and a brother Raymond. We will miss his personality and presence dearly. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, 30th of June, 2022 at noon in the Mack Family Funeral Home 105 Central St., Gardner, Massachusetts.
