Renee N. Asmar

GARDNER - Renee N. Asmar,95, died unexpectedly Monday, August 22, 2022 at UMass Medical Center - University Campus, Worcester.

She was born in Jezzine, Lebanon on December 25, 1926, a daughter of the late Kallil and Nazzira Asmar.

She moved to the United States in 1947 and married her husband Nassife John Asmar. Renee worked at Dow's Shoe Store for over 60 years. She was a former member of Sacred Heart Church and most recently of Annunciation Parish - Holy Rosary Church.

She loved cooking, knitting, gardening and especially walking her son's hunting dogs Woody, Abby and Molly daily for over 30 years.

She leaves one son, Anthony J Asmar of Gardner; two daughters, Gloria Aubuchon and her husband Michael of Gardner, Lorraine Meluch and her husband James of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Aubuchon and his wife Lauren of Groton, Steven Aubuchon and his wife Heather of Charlestown, Christina Juan and her husband Christopher of Berlin, MA, Kenneth Meluch and his wife Blake of Tolland, CT; six great grandchildren, Windsor Aubuchon, Grey Aubuchon, Logan Meluch, Garrett Meluch, Paisley Juan and Whitaker Juan; several siblings in Lebanon and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Nassife John Asmar and by one great grandchild, Jordyn Juan.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 29, 2022 at 11 a.m. in Annunciation Parish - Holy Rosary Church 135 Nichols Street, Gardner, Massachusetts. Private burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner. 

There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations in Renee's memory be made to Annunciation Parish, 135 Nichols St., Gardner, MA 01440.
