Pierre Raymond Langlois

February 17, 1965 — April 3, 2026

Groton, CT

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Pierre Raymond Langlois of Groton, CT, on April 3, 2026. Born February 17, 1965, in Gardner, MA, to Paulette and Charles “Charlie” Langlois, Pierre was the youngest of five and brought energy, humor, and warmth to everyone he met.

Pierre attended Holy Rosary School and graduated from Gardner High School in 1983, where he was an exceptional multi-sport athlete. He excelled in hockey, football, baseball, and tennis, captaining both the hockey and football teams, and was later inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame. A proud French Canadian–New Englander, he was a devoted fan of the Boston Bruins, Red Sox, Celtics, and New England Patriots.

He began his career as a Massachusetts state employee, working at Gardner Veterans Rink, Wachusett Mountain, and the Leominster State Pool, where he made a positive impact on many in the community. He later spent many years at Foxwoods Casino as a dealer and pit boss, and then at the Rose Garden Ice Arena, where he maintained the ice for figure skaters and hockey teams to enjoy the same sports he loved, occasionally even joining them on the ice as a fill-in referee or scorekeeper. For the past 15 years, Pierre was employed by the United Parcel Service as a member of Teamsters Local 493 before retiring in 2025, and was known as a loyal colleague and friend.

Pierre loved playing hockey and golf, following his favorite teams, and spending time with his children. Despite living with type 1 diabetes and later dementia, he remained positive and had a remarkable ability to make people laugh, whether a close friend or someone he had just met.

He is survived by his children, Cooper Langlois of Ledyard, CT, and Isabella Langlois and her wife, Maria, of Hartford, CT; his sisters, Suzanne Walker of Westminster, MA, and Michelle Arsenault and her husband, Ken, of Gardner, MA; his sister-in-law, Maria Saven of Athol, MA; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Paulette Langlois, and his brothers, Robert and Joseph Langlois.

In a final act of generosity, Pierre donated his brain to Yale University to support research on traumatic brain injury and improve diagnosis and treatment. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Michael Nordman and family of Sandwich, MA, and the staff and residents of Solstice Senior Living in Groton, CT, for their care and support.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Mack Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA.
