Phyllis Ruth Rogers

Beloved mother, Phyllis Ruth Chantrelle Rogers (née Anderson), unexpectedly passed away on March 10, 2022, visiting her daughter in Washington, DC. On June 26, 1950, Phyllis was born in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Pauline (née Ward) and Lloyd Thomas Anderson. She graduated from Brighton High School in 1968, married and welcomed her daughter Nicole. Phyllis worked for over 40 years in various positions and retired from American Airlines as a flight attendant in 2015. In 2016, she moved to New Salem, MA, to relax and enjoy retirement. While retired, Phyllis proudly volunteered and served on the board of the 1794 Meeting House. She maintained her independent spirit, beliefs, protectiveness of loved ones, and a commitment to self-improvement. Phyllis was amazingly creative; she painted, loved traveling, music, dancing, and was a fierce tennis player. She enjoyed a life-long passion for art, decorating, and fashion. Phyllis' elegance and tremendous style were constantly reflected in her home and clothing. While her beauty graced inward and out, she could put anyone at ease with her captivating smile. Phyllis touched so many lives across multiple generations and made a point of helping others whenever possible. She was a loving mother, sister, daughter, and unselfish friend. Her unexpected loss has broken our hearts. A memorial service honoring Phyllis' life will be held on Friday, May 20, 2022, at 2 pm at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Rd. Orange, MA 01364. A calling hour will be held from 1:00 pm – 2 pm prior to the service.
