Pauline C. Strout

March 22, 1941 — April 10, 2024

Templeton

With a heavy heart, yet filled with the warmth of countless cherished memories, we announce the passing of our beloved Pauline Celina Cormier Strout, affectionately known to many as "Polly". A woman of vibrant spirit, Pauline was born in Fitchburg, MA on March 22, 1941, and was called home by God on April 10, 2024.

Her  bright red hair and vibrant smile were beacons of light and spirit greeting everyone she encountered. Her laughter was contagious, filling every room she entered with warmth and joy. Her love for puzzles and games was only surpassed by the love she held for her family and her students, and especially for her husband David.

Pauline attended  St Joseph Elementary School and St Bernard’s High School in Fitchburg. She was then called to devote her life to God and teaching in various schools in MA, CT, and NC after graduating from Newton College of the Sacred Heart. In her role as a teacher, she touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on every soul she encountered. She was as generous with her time as she was with her knowledge, always ready to lend an ear or offer words of wisdom. She was in touch with some former students for her whole life.

Pauline's life took a different path when she left the religious order and was called to the vocation of wife and mother. She married David in 1971 and they welcomed two daughters. She remained active in the church and taught at Sacred Heart School in Gardner until her retirement. Her favorite thing was spending time with family, whether with Dave and the kids or big gatherings of her siblings and their families.

Polly is survived by her husband, David, her daughters Becker Parkhurst-Strout (Amanda) and Tara Bernard, her sister Claire Powers (Alan), sister-in-law Suzie Cormier, brother in laws Tom Strout (Claudette) and Larry Strout (Penny), and many nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Patrice and Bernadette Cormier, her siblings Donald Cormier, Lauraine Desjean, Jeanne Desjean, Rita Poisson, Clarence Cormier, Emile Cormier, and son-in-law Stephen Bernard.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner.

A Funeral Mass will be held in her honor on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 11:00 am at St. Vincent De Paul Church in Baldwinville. She will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Baldwinville, at 12:00 pm. Memorial donations may be made to St Vincent de Paul Church in Baldwinville.

Pauline's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and laughter. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved and those who loved her. We invite you to share your memories of Pauline, upload photos, and celebrate her life on her memorial page.
