Patricia "Patty" (Daignault) (Fellows) MacDonald, a charismatic and spirit-filled soul who radiated her enthusiasm for life to everyone she met. Pat had a recognizable smile and contagious laugh. She had a unique combination of practical skills, artistic flair, and quick wit. Patricia passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, generosity, and leadership.
Patricia, fondly known by many as "Pat", was an avid traveler who loved the ocean and her beach days with family and friends where she was always adorned in her signature sunhats. A talented majorette in the Athol High School marching band, Patricia carried her love for dancing and her flair for "bling" fashion throughout her life. Her generous spirit extended beyond her personal life and into her professional career. A graduate from Worcester State (College) University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing, Patricia served as a registered nurse and director of staff education at Athol Memorial Hospital for many years. Her leadership skills and innovative approaches were recognized when she later served in executive nursing roles, providing patient safety services through risk management with St. Paul Insurance Company, Minneapolis, MN. She was also a proud member of the American Nurses Association and the Massachusetts Nursing Association. Upon retirement, Pat served as president of the Massachusetts Manufacturing Housing Association and president of her Homeowners Association at Riverbend Woods in Athol.
What truly mattered most to Patricia was her family. Her love for them was deep and unwavering, and she was the heart of her family. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Winston MacDonald, a son, Christopher Fellows and his wife Jenny of Truckee, Calif., a daughter, Penni (Fellows) Sadlon and her husband, Kyle of Whitinsville, Mass., and five grandchildren, Colter, Stefan, Amelia, Monique, and Heath. "Grammy Pat's" laugh and generous nature will forever remain in our hearts.
