Naomi B. Ferris

Naomi B. (Buckley) Ellis Ferris, 75, formerly of 102 Starrett Ave., Athol, died Friday in Silver Lake Center Nursing Home in Bristol, Pennsylvania after a long illness. She was born in Gardner May 18, 1928, daughter of the late Mae (Buckley) Bernier and lived in the Orange/Athol area her entire life. She graduated from Orange High School class of 1946. Her husband, John F. Ferris died in 1984. Many years ago Mrs. Ferris was employed with the F.D. Cass Co. of Athol, Time Warner Cable of Athol and most recently, the L.S. Starrett Co. of Athol, retiring in 1993. She was a former member of the Jumptown Twirlers and enjoyed arts, crafts and painting. She is survived by two daughters; Candace A. Harvey of Levittown, Pennsylvania and Penny E. Antonissen of Wilmington, North Carolina; four sons, Darryl C. Ellis of Orange, Mark J. Ellis of Rochester, NH, Michael J. Ellis of Phillipston and John B. Ellis of Orange; two brothers, Joseph Bernier of High Point, NC and Richard Bernier of Athol; her former husband, Raymond G. Ellis of Orange, 12 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and several nephews and nieces. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from J. EDWARD MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 137 Main St., Athol, Friday, September 19 at 10 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Athol at 11AM. Burial will be in Gethsemane Cemetery, Athol. Calling hours at the funeral home are from 7-9 PM Thursday. Should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to The Alzheimer's Association 128 Providence St., Worcester, MA 01604.
