We are sad to announce the passing of Nancy J. Purdie on July 13, 2025. Born on December 31, 1946 in Gardner, MA, Nancy was a friend to all who were privileged to know her. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, whose quick wit and compassionate heart were cherished by all who knew her. A resident of Gardner, Massachusetts, Nancy was the embodiment of resilience, having spent her early years in Templeton before setting down roots in the core of her community.
Nancy was the backbone of her family and the cornerstone of her workplace. Over the years, she served as a dedicated secretary at Dr. Faust’s office and later at Cornerstone Family, where her dedication and hard work were recognized and appreciated by all. Apart from her professional life, Nancy was an active participant in the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts with her children while they were growing up. She was often found sitting on the porch reading a book and enjoying the warmth of the sun. Her favorite times were spent with family and friends.
She was the wife of David Purdie and the doting mother of Kenneth, Kevin, Heather and Craig. Nancy was also survived by her daughters-in-law, Sarah and Sheryl, her son-in-law, Alex, and her beloved grandchildren, Trisha and Zachary. She was the cherished sister of Henry LeBlanc, Barbara LeBlanc, Linda LeBlanc and their partners. Along with many nieces, nephews and their children. Preceding her in death were her parents, Edward and Jennie LeBlanc, and her brothers, Edward and Robert LeBlanc.
It is said that "A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again." Maya Angelou's words seem fitting to describe the void left by Nancy. She loved serving and helping others.
We invite you to share your precious memories of Nancy and upload photos on the memorial page at www.mackfamilyfh.com. Your stories can help us all remember the extraordinary woman Nancy was and the lives she touched in so many ways.
