Nancy E. Anderson

Royalston- Nancy E. (Lawton) Anderson, 71, died Monday, March 14, 2022 at Leominster Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves her husband of 49 years Kenneth G.A. Anderson; one son, Michael D. Anderson of Athol; one daughter, Becky S. Demmons and her husband Nathaniel of Mason, NH; five grandchildren, Olivia Rose Anderson, MaryClare Elizabeth Anderson, Sadie Lynn Anderson, Allison Elizabeth Demmons and Katherine Marie Demmons. She is predeceased by her sister Linda Jameson. Nancy was born in Spokane, WA. Daughter of the late Charles Herbert and Ellen Marie (Harshbarger) Lawton. She grew up in Athol and was a 1968 graduate of Athol High School. She also graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with her degree in Nursing. She worked in the ICU for several years in Worcester. She worked in Risk management and Quality Assurance at Athol Memorial Hospital for 25 years.Nancy enjoyed reading, crocheting, cooking and gardening as well as horseback riding, nature and science. She truly loved to travel including going to Florida every winter; her last trip was with her daughter Becky and her son-in-law to Italy. Nancy was a kind, compassionate, and loving individual who saw the beauty in everything. Her compassion was seen in the care she provided as a wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and nurse. She will be remembered forever in the hearts of all those who knew her. Nancy's funeral will be held on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 12:30 p.m. in the Fiske Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange, MA 01364. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home from 11:00 - 12:30 prior to the funeral.
