Monique B. Poirier

Monique B. Poirier, a spirited soul and a beacon of courage, left us on September 15, 2026. Born in Rogersville, NB, Canada on September 25, 1951, she spent a considerable part of her life in Gardner, Massachusetts, where she not only left an indelible mark on the lives of those she touched but also created a reservoir of cherished memories.

Monique was a humble and loyal woman, whose life was a testament to her resilience and strength. She worked in food services at the Simplex Time Recorder, but her true passions lay beyond her professional life. Monique was an ardent traveler, having journeyed to the picturesque landscapes of Hawaii, Guam, Alaska, Texas, and Tennesee, and frequently visited her homeland, Canada. Her fondness for collecting Teddy Bears spoke volumes of her childlike spirit and her love for life's simple joys. A voracious reader, Monique found solace in the world of words and narratives, and her love for musicals and concerts was unmatched. Her devotion to her Catholic faith was evident, and she practiced its teachings throughout her life. As we remember her, we are reminded of the verse from Psalms 46:5, "God is within her, she will not fall."

Monique valued her family above all else. Her love and care for her cats mirrored her nurturing personality, and her love for her privacy bore testimony to her respect for personal space and individuality. She lived a life filled with love, laughter, and literature, and her departure has left a void that cannot be filled. As her sister-in-law, I was warmly welcomed by Monique when we moved to Gardner, and our bond grew stronger over the past 38 years. She was a delightful travel companion and was always up for an evening of music.

She is survived by her brothers, Raymond and Louis Poirier, and sister-in-law, Sarah Poirier. Two surviving sisters-in law include Jackie Poirier and Diane Poirier. There are many loving nieces and nephews. Her parents Albert and Theresa Poirier, and her brothers John, Hector, Archie, and Paul Poirier, preceded her in death.

Monique's life was a celebration of resilience, love, and humility. She brought joy to every life she touched, and her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. We encourage you to leave your cherished memories of Monique and upload your favorite photos of her to the memorial page below.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 AM at Mack Family Funeral Homes, Gardner - Chapel, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

The Burial will immediately follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, West St., Gardner, MA.
