Michael Paul Lafrancois

Jun 2, 1962 — Jun 6, 2026

Albemarle, North Carolina

Michael Paul Lefrancois entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 6, 2026, at the age of 64 after a battle with cancer.

Born on May 2, 1962, Mike lived a life marked by unwavering faith, wholehearted devotion to his family, tireless service to others, and a joy that could light up any room. He was the kind of man whose presence was immediately felt because he was so full of life, laughter, energy, and enthusiasm. He loved people, loved making others smile, and had a gift for making everyone around him feel welcomed and included. You always knew when Mike was around, and somehow people always seemed happier because he was.

Beneath his larger-than-life personality was a man of remarkable character. Mike was steadfast, dependable, and deeply grounded in his faith. He was someone who made people feel safe. No matter the circumstances, he remained steady, confident not in his own ability to fix every problem, but in the God he trusted completely. His faith gave him a steadfast strength that became a source of comfort and reassurance to those he loved. When Mike was there, you knew things were going to be okay.

More than anything else, Mike loved Jesus Christ. His faith was not simply something he professed; it was the foundation of his life. He sought to honor God not only through his words, but through the way he lived. Throughout the years, he faithfully served as an elder, deacon, youth leader, men's ministry leader, prison ministry volunteer, and participant in mission work in India. He was known as someone who could always be counted on. Pastors, church leaders, friends, neighbors, and family members knew that if help was needed, Mike would be there. His desire was simple: to be the hands and feet of Jesus wherever God called him to serve. He showed up.

At the center of his earthly life was his beloved wife, Lauren. She was not only the love of his life but his very best friend and true soul mate. Their marriage was marked by deep friendship, unwavering devotion, mutual admiration, and genuine affection. They shared a love that many hope to find but few are blessed to experience. Those who knew them witnessed a relationship built on faith, loyalty, laughter, and enduring love. Mike adored Lauren, and there was never any doubt how completely he cherished her.

At twenty years old, Mike made a decision that would define much of the rest of his life. When he married Lauren, he also eagerly embraced the responsibility and privilege of becoming a father to her three young children. What began as a choice became a lifelong devotion. Keith, Chad, and Kelly were never anything other than his own children, and he loved them with the fierce loyalty, protection, pride, and commitment that characterized every aspect of his life. He faithfully provided for them, guided them, encouraged them, and demonstrated through his daily life what it meant to be a husband, father, and Christian man. His son-in-law later thanked him for being a true example of what a real husband, father, and follower of Christ should look like—not simply through words, but through the way he lived every day.

Mike's love for family only grew as the years passed. Becoming a grandfather brought him tremendous joy. He delighted in spending time with his grandchildren and never seemed to run out of energy when it came to playing, laughing, teasing, snuggling, or simply being present. His grandchildren will forever cherish memories of their loud, fun, kind, and loving Pepe.

Following high school, Mike proudly served in the Army National Guard. That same sense of duty and commitment carried into every area of his life. He was known for an extraordinary work ethic and spent his life doing whatever was necessary to provide well for his family. Hard work was not merely something Mike did; it was part of who he was. For the last twenty-seven years, he worked alongside his sons in the paintless dent repair industry, a chapter of life that brought him both pride and satisfaction.

When he wasn't serving, working, or spending time with family, Mike enjoyed some of his favorite passions. He was a devoted New England Patriots fan whose loyalty never wavered. He proudly collected Patriots memorabilia and followed his team with loud enthusiasm through every season. He also loved cars and loved driving them. Preferably fast! Riding with Mike was often an adventure in itself—something between a road trip and an amusement park ride. Family and friends knew that if they climbed into the passenger seat, you might want to buckle up and hold on tight.

Perhaps the word most often used to describe Mike was Selfless. He consistently placed the needs of others before his own and gave freely of his time, energy, encouragement, and love. Whether helping a neighbor, serving at church, supporting a friend, providing for his family, or playing with his grandchildren, Mike approached life with an open heart and a willingness to serve.

Those who knew Mike will remember his joyful spirit, his loud laughter, his unwavering faith, his servant's heart, his tireless work ethic, his devotion to family, and the way he made people feel safe and loved simply by being himself. His influence extended far beyond his own home and church. Through his example, encouragement, and faithful service, he left a lasting impact on countless lives.

Though his absence leaves an immeasurable void, his family finds comfort in knowing that the Christian faith Mike lived so faithfully throughout his life has now become his forever reward. The Savior he loved, served, and pointed others toward has welcomed him home. And his wish is that all would place their faith in Jesus.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.” Matthew 25:23

Mike is survived by his beloved wife, Lauren (Batchelor) Lefrancois; his children, Keith and Kati Hebert, Chad Hebert, and Kelly and Sam Phillips; his grandchildren, Ryan Hebert and Brooke Shanks, Noah and Bryn Hebert, Averi Hebert, Jami and Daniel Campbell, Khearstyn Bartlett, Addison Phillips, Kadence Phillips, Alysia Phillips, Kailyn Phillips, and Auldan Phillips; his great granddaughters Luqa and Benni; his brothers and sister, Rowell, Richard, Bobby, Denise, Harvey, and Randy; and many beloved brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends whom he loved deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Elaine Lefrancois, and brother, Dennis
