Maurice “Moe” Levesque passed away on October 12, 2026, just four days before his 89th birthday. His life was filled with hard work, devotion to family, and a love of sports.

Moe was a devoted husband to Gloria Levesque for more than 40 years. He leaves behind his wife, Gloria, and her two children, Karen Wright and Scott Levesque. He also leaves his four children, Gary, Linda, and Jackie Levesque, and Michelle McClung.

For 45 years, Moe found fulfillment in his career as a baker, owning and operating numerous bakeries under the name The Family Pastry Shop. His shops became gathering places where people enjoyed pastries, free coffee, conversation, and the company of others. Through his work, Moe offered his customers more than something delicious—he created places where others felt welcome.

Raised in a single-parent home, Moe held a special place in his heart for his mother, Lena Levesque, whose strength, dedication, and love helped shape his life. As the oldest child, he took on the role of protector to his younger sister, Florence Tenore, and his brothers, Richard and Ronnie Levesque, all of whom he leaves behind.

Moe’s enthusiasm for life extended beyond the bakery. He loved sports and played football in high school. During his service in the U.S. Army, he also played on the basketball and baseball sports teams in Europe. In his later years, he spent many happy hours with his friends on the golf course. He enjoyed watching and attending New England Patriots games, rode motorcycles, and piloted a Cessna, taking his sense of adventure into the skies.

Moe will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his sense of humor, and the welcoming places he created throughout his long baking career. His memory lives on in the family he loved and in the many people who found friendship and enjoyment throughout his life.

We would like to pay special tribute to the staff at Life Care Center of Acton, who provided a warm and comforting environment for Moe, along with affection and laughter, through the last two difficult years of his life.

Moe will be remembered at the Mack Family Funeral Home, Gardner Chapel, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 23rd from 12:00-2:00 pm.  A funeral service will take place at 2 pm. Burial will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, MA.
