Mary Louise Floran

ATHOL- Mary Louise (Flagg) Floran, age 85 of Doe Valley Road, Athol passed away on December 30. 2022.  She was born in North Dana, MA on April 21, 1937, the daughter of Ava B and Rachel E. (Allen) Flagg. 

Mary lived most of her life in Athol.  She graduated from St Vincent Hospital School in Worcester in 1956.  She married Duane A. Floran on New Year’s Eve in 1959. She died one day shy of their 63rd wedding anniversary.

Mary was a homemaker, she baked pie for the New Salem Restaurant, and she was a home health care worker for Catholic Charities.  She loved family gatherings, the Flagg-Slate reunion at her family home was very important to her as were any family events.  Mary enjoyed gardening, walking on the beach and playing in the sand, and she loved to wander.   

Mary leaves behind her children, Rachel Floran (T. Jay Jones), WI; Duane Floran (Susan), Fitchburg; S. Elvira Floran-Bernier (Robert), CO; Celia Baxter (Charles), Petersham, grandchildren: Anthony Pavkovich, MO; Joseph Pavkovich, MN; Shawn Floran, NH; Alexis Baxter (Zackary Marriott), ME; Leah Baxter, Hannah Baxter, Moriah Baxter, Petersham.  Mary was one of fifteen children and leaves her siblings William (Marianne)Flagg, OR; Ira Flagg, FL; Carol Rowel, FL; David (Mary) Flagg, Royalston; Laural Keefe, FL; as well as many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her daughter Karen Floran. Her siblings: Edna Oja, Avis Setkewich, Ava Flagg, Joseph Flagg, Barbara Connor, Marshall Flagg, John (Dana), Charles Flagg, Arthur Flagg, and her son-in-law John Pavkovich.

Calling hours are from 10:00AM-11:00AM on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange. 

Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.

The Burial will be at Doe Valley Cemetery in Athol, MA
