With a spirit as vibrant as her favorite dance tune, Marilyn "June" Sbrega graced this world with her presence on the 17th of April, 1943, in Henderson, KY. Her journey of 83 years, which ended on May 10, 2026, was punctuated by a delightful rhythm of love, resilience, and sparkling joy. Marilyn had an exceptional knack for bringing life to any room she entered, her heart always beating in time with the music she so loved. She danced her way through life, making every step count, teaching us all that life is not about waiting for the storm to pass but learning to dance in the rain.
Marilyn was a strong, independent woman who navigated life's ups and downs with grace and grit. Living through 37 years of sobriety, Marilyn was actively engaged in service and helped many in the program. She was a devoted mother, a loving sister, a cherished grandmother, and a friend to many. Her career as a business manager at Walmart was marked by her dedication, hard work, and passion for service. Marilyn is survived by her son, Kirk Sbrega, her partner, Larry Bateman, her grandson, Aiden Sbrega, her siblings, Ronald Fruit, Linda Sargent, Janet Corcoran, and Theresa Greene, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Edward Fruit, and her brother, John Fruit.
