Margaret J. Emery

ATHOL - Margaret J. Emery, 83 of 32 Locke Avenue died Monday, June 26, 2006 in the Hospice Residence on Coes Pond, Worcester after an illness. Margaret was born in Athol on February 27, 1923, the daughter of the late Andrew and the late Josephine (Carbone) Girardi. She graduated from Athol High School in 1940 and from Endicott Jr. College in 1942, where she was President of her class. She was past President of the Athol High School Alumni Association, former Vice-President of Girardi Distributors, Inc., was a member of the school committee in the early 60´s and was also a member of Our Lady Immaculate Church. She leaves two daughters; Susan D. MacKay of Granby, CT, and Kristan E. Mountain of New Canaan, CT, one son; Robert Emery, Jr. Ph.D. of Charlottesville, VA, one sister; Grace Roth of Athol, eleven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-seven years, Robert E. Emery and by her brother, George Girardi, Sr. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, July 3, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady Immaculate Church. All those attending are asked to go directly to the Church. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Our Lady Immaculate Church Building Fund, 192 School St., Athol, MA 01331 or to the charity of one's choice. $(document).ready(function(){ });
