Lorraine Mae Shepard, a loving, generous, and resilient woman, passed away on December 10, 2025. Born in Gardner, MA on June 16, 1928, Lorraine spent her entire life in the town she loved, giving her time and energy to her family, friends, and community. A supportive presence in the lives of those she loved, Lorraine was a beacon of strength and kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Her resilient spirit and unwavering generosity will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.
Lorraine dedicated 30 years of her life to TD Bank, retiring in 1998 after many years spent as a diligent Mail Room Clerk. But her passions extended beyond her work. A lover of dance, Lorraine could often be found at the Two Hearts as One Square Dance Club or the Montachusett Twirlers, moving gracefully across the floor with the same determination and enthusiasm she brought into every aspect of her life. She also enjoyed bowling, playing cribbage and whist, and spending time at the Gardner Senior Center. Above all, Lorraine's love for her family was palpable. Whether attending her daughter’s and grandchildren’s athletic and extracurricular events or offering support to a family member in need, Lorraine's love for her family was a constant, guiding force in her life.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Sarah Borey, granddaughter Jennifer McLaughlin, stepson George Shepard, stepdaughter Betty De Ramos, brothers William and Leon Borey, sister Cecilia Richards, and step grandson Roland Lemieux. She is survived by her daughter Mary McLaughlin and her husband Paul, her grandchildren, Jeremy and his wife Pam, Kimberly McLaughlin and her partner Andrew Sturm, and Shawn McLaughlin and his wife Brooke, her stepsons William Shepard and his wife Deborah, and Henry Shepard and his wife Joanne, her step grandchildren Julie Croteau, Cassie Sundstrom, Marguerite Haines, Eileen Lemieux, Linda Cook, and Kevin and Cheri Shepard, and several step great grandchildren.
The family invites you to leave memories and upload photos on the memorial page at www.mackfamilyfh.com to celebrate the beautiful life of Lorraine. As we remember her, let's honor the love and kindness she shared with us all.
