Lola A. O'Mara

December 22, 1935 — January 10, 2020

Lola died peacefully on January 10, 2020 in Heywood Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Athol, Mass. on December 22, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Adelard A. Ares and Rita M. Ares (Chaisson). Lola Graduated from Athol High School with the Class of 1954. She was employed for many years at Erving Paper Mills/Georgia Pacific as a Customer Service Representative until her retirement in 1996. Lola was a member of the Annunciation Parish/Our Lady of the Holy Rosary of Gardner. Lola enjoyed music, reading and watching the news but her biggest joy was spending time with her entire family. She was the oldest of seven children and was predeceased by brothers Richard Ares, Michael Ares and Brion Ares; two sisters Lorraine Nelson and Norma Richard as well as the love of her life, husband of sixty years, Roland W. O’Mara, Jr.. She leaves behind one brother Adelard Ares and wife Nancy of Athol, Son Michael O’Mara of Medway, daughters, Maureen Schnare and husband Chris of Gardner, Martha Franklin and husband Richard of Gardner; grandchildren Kerry-Ann Prentice and husband Evan, Michael Chiasson and wife Becky, Tyler Chiasson, Stefani Munoz and Meredith and Garrett O’Mara and great grandchildren, Mikayla and Aiden Nichols and Ava Chiasson as well as many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, January 17, 2020, 11:30am at St. Denis Church 85 Main St, Ashburnham. Burial following at Massachusetts Veterans Cemetery 111 Glenallen St, Winchendon.
