Linda M. (Bennett) Begen (also known as Linda M. Droney), age 80 of Gardner, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 21, 2022, with family by her side, at the Baldwinville Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Baldwinville, Massachusetts.

Linda was born February 15, 1942, in Lynn, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late June (McKinley) Roth and Harry Bennett. She is survived by her husband Edward J. Begen of Gardner, Massachusetts, her three daughters Kate Droney and her husband Joseph Progin of Fitchburg, Sharon Demers and her husband Darrell Demers of Lunenburg, and Gail Brennan and her husband Jamie Brennan of Peabody. She leaves behind five grandchildren: Sarah Demers of Portland, Maine, Nathan Demers of Elizabeth City, NC, Henry Demers of Standish, Maine, Elizabeth Brennan, and Maggie Lynne Brennan of Peabody, Massachusetts.

After graduating from Lynn English High School, Linda went on to attend nursing school and become an LPN. Over the course of her 45 years in nursing, she enjoyed working at North Shore Children's Hospital in Salem, Massachusetts, Union Hospital in Lynn, Massachusetts, and at the offices of Dr. Janz in Punta Gorda, Florida. Linda had held residences in Lynn, Salem, and Peabody, Massachusetts before moving to Port Charlotte, Florida in 1995 where she retired from nursing. She moved back to Massachusetts in 2005 taking up residence in Winchendon and eventually moving to Gardner.

Linda loved music, dancing, and animals. She loved many pets over her lifetime, most of them rescues. Linda was most proud of her family and absolutely loved being a wonderful "Grammy." Camping, gardening, singing in her church choir, crocheting items for friends and family, walking and boating gave her much joy. Her ability to make people laugh and smile with her silliness will be greatly missed.
