Kurt R. Russell

Templeton

Kurt R. Russell, aged 37, of Baldwinville, Massachusetts, was born on June 15th, 1988, and sadly passed on May 21, 2026. Kurt was a devoted family man and friend to so many. His life was a testament to the values of generosity, reliability, and unwavering support and love for his family and friends. Kurt was a man who believed in the power of hard work, perseverance, and love.

Kurt was a dedicated Correctional Officer, serving with the Massachusetts Department of Corrections for nearly 17 years. His dedication and commitment to his profession were admirable, but his true passion lay in his hobbies and the comfort of his family. He found joy in four-wheeling and snow mobiling, fixing up and rebuilding engines. He loved RC cars and boats, fixing and upgrading parts. His beloved dogs Gracie and Rutledge were his pride and joy. His garage, filled with the hum of his tools and the smell of engine oil, was his sanctuary. Some of his greatest memories were made up in Maine at his best friend Jimmy's cabin. Yet, his greatest accomplishment and source of pride was his family, whom he worked tirelessly to provide for.

Kurt is survived by his loving wife, Melina Russell, his son, Maxwell Russell, his step-daughter, Jillian Cutler-Johnson, his mother, Theresa Chalke from Athol, his maternal grandmother Nancy Chalke of Ashburnham, paternal grandfather George B. Russell of Athol, and many aunts and uncles, cousins. He was a steadfast pillar of support to them, always putting their needs before his own. His memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Kurt's life was a testament to this verse, his light shining brightly and touching the lives of many.

"For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus Christ our Lord." -Romans 8:38-39

The family would appreciate your sharing memories and photographs of Kurt on the memorial page. His life was full of love, laughter, and countless moments of joy. We invite you to celebrate his life and share your experiences with him.
