Hubbardston

We come together to remember and celebrate the remarkable life of Kurt William Leslie, born on November 20, 1950, in Worcester, MA. As a family man, Kurt was always a steadfast supporter of not just his wife and children, but also his brother, sisters, his many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Kurt's devotion to his family culminated in his home he built in Hubbardston, Massachusetts, which was not just his residence, but his castle and a gathering place for his cherished family. He always kept busy around his home and hay farm, including restoring old equipment and antique cars, which eventually earned him several accolades in various car shows.

Kurt's passion for nature helped define him. He earned a degree in Forest Management from UMass Amherst. This was followed by a career in Forestry Management for the Water Operations Division of the Worcester Department of Public Works for over 20 years. As the owner and operator of his own forestry business, Kurt's dedication and hard work were evident. Kurt's life was a testament to his enduring love for his family, his commitment to his work and community. He also served on the Hubbardston Conservation Commission and the Planning Board, and was an active member of the Lions Club. His remarkable spirit and infectious enthusiasm for life will be deeply missed by all those fortunate enough to have known him.

Kurt is survived by his wife of 53 years, Amy (Simonds) Leslie; his daughter, Nancy (John E.) Duffy, his son, Scott (Melissa Staiti) Leslie, and grandchildren Alannah and John P. Duffy. He also leaves behind his sister, Gayle Milla, and his brother, William Leslie, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick Leslie, his mother, Martha (Deitmer) Leslie, and his sister, Lois Badwan.
