ATHOL- John Michael Tamasunas, 69, died Friday, September 23, 2022, at his home in Athol, MA.
He was born in Gardner on December 26, 1952, a son of the late John Tamasunas and Elizabeth "Betty" (Brunelle) Tamasunas.
John lived in Athol his whole life. He served in the United States Army from 1972-1974.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and going blueberry picking. He loved the community garden where he lived and he was very proud of the garden he started there. He made the best apple pies. If you knew John, you knew he loved his "burn" rides.
He is survived by two sons, Ian Tamasunas and Kyle Bishop; a daughter, Sarah Burke; a brother, Pete Tamasunas; a sister, Chris Ann Wilder; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Friday, November 4th, 2022 at 2:00 pm, at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA.
