Jeanne Cameron Forand passed away on July 17, 2026 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare where she had resided since July of 2023.
Jeanne loved to read and surrounded herself with books both at home and in her work. She began her library career while in highschool, working as an aide at the Athol Public Library. For three years she was an apprentince Librarian at Parlin Memoral Library in Leverette, MA. She returned to Athol Junior High School as a Librarian, she was also the Librarian at the Royalston Community School. After retiring from the Athol school system, she became the assistant director at Petersham Public Library.
She was a devoted member of Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Church where she served as a CCD teacher, RCIA program. Baptismal preparation classes, First Communion classes and as a lecturer. Jeanne also actively volunteered in many programs at St. Francis and St. Peter's Parish.
She is survived by son Robert M. Forand Jr. of Hampstead, NC, and her sisters Marion Euvard of Athol, Margaret Drew of Hoffman, NC and Nancy Hale of Denton, TX as well as two grandchildren and two great grandchildren all of NC.
Jeanne was the daughter of the late Hugh M.G. Cameron and Dorothy Knight Cameron Pratt. She was predeseased by her husband of 42 years Robert M. Forand Sr. and her brothers William, Malcome, and Phillip Cameron Sr.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Alziemer's Research or to Our Lady Immaculate Church.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School St., Athol, MA. Her burial will be private.
