Jean-Emile Dube, 90, passed away on April 9, 2026. Born in Gardner on January 26, 1936, he was a lifelong Gardner resident. He attended Holy Rosary School and graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1954. He attended Mount Wachusett Community College.

Jean was a member of the Knights of Columbus 4th degree Honor Guard. He belonged to the Telephone Pioneers of America, the Acadien Social Club, Gardner Rifle and Pistol Club, US Robotics Society, and the Photographic Society of America, where he was awarded recognition in International Photographic Salons.

Jean received many awards in National and International Rifle and Pistol competitions, including US Olympic Team trials. He also did trap and skeet shooting.

Jean served as an SFC in the Massachusetts National Guard. He worked for a short time for the Gardner Post Office. He retired from Verizon in the Computer Technology field.

A man of many interests, he co-owned a plane and flew out of the Gardner Airport, built many model railroad layouts in his basement, loved to garden, and enjoyed astronomy, which he was amazed by the vastness of the Universe.

He was married to Barbara Ann Woodbury for 57 years. She passed away in 2020 from cancer. They both loved traveling the Maine Coast, especially Acadia National Park and the York area.

He leaves his brother-in-law, George Woodbury, and his wife Barbara of Baldwinville, a cousin, Dr. Raymond Alie and his wife Mary of Williamsburg, VA, many cousins, and special friends and neighbors.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 10 am in the Mack Family Funeral Home, Gardner Chapel, 105 Central St., Gardner. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Gardner.

A calling hour will be held prior to the service from 9 -10 am in the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, people are asked to make donations to their favorite charity.
