Born on February 12, 1937, in Gardner, MA, Janice was a beacon of unwavering love and support to all who had the privilege of knowing her. A compassionate soul, Janice dedicated much of her life to the service of others, providing a nurturing home for several foster children and operating a private rest home in the Athol area, where she spent many years of her life. An empathetic woman, she had an innate ability to understand and share the feelings of others, making her a cherished figure in her community.
Janice was a proud graduate of Athol High School, class of 1955, and her commitment to learning and personal growth remained a significant part of her life. As a homemaker, she showed her love through the comfort and care she provided to her family and those under her care. Her love for her hometown was deep-rooted, having been raised in Athol, moving to New Salem for several years, before ultimately returning to Athol.
Janice is survived by her beloved children Brenda Pomainville, Bruce Whittier, Robert Whittier, Debra Blair, and Dawna Turner; her dear brother, William Soucie; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren who were the joy of her life.
