Jane Robertson Hein was born on January 8,1928 and was the only daughter to a gregarious seamstress and a quiet factory worker. She spent her youth on Merrick St. with Elm Park as her playground. She attended Classical High School and Salter Secretarial School. Jane married her high school crush, the "tall, handsome and clever ", Robert Hein in 1948. Together, they lived in Worcester, Paxton and Petersham, where they raised three children and had an exploding scrapbook of friends, cultivated and lasting a lifetime.
Jane was an active member of The Paxton Congregational Church, the Girl Scouts, a longtime member of the Petersham Craft Center and The Historical Society of Early American Decorative Painters. Outside of her beautifully painted home, she exhibited and sold her art in Kennebunkport Maine, Portsmouth, NH and Petersham, MА.
Jane is predeceased by her daughters Linda (30) and Janice (35) and her husband Bob (73).
She is survived by her son Donald R. and his wife Denise from Holden. Until her recent visit to Rehab, Jane was still baking every day, reading Harry Truman's biography, getting through the T&G from cover to cover, and painting an oil of Nubble Light House. Jane was pure simple joy, living her best life, always in the moment.
Funeral services will be private.
Mack Family Funeral Home, Athol-Orange Chapel, 110 New Athol Road, Orange is directing arrangements.
