James Michael Maher

AUSTIN, TEXAS- James Michael Maher, 57, of Austin, TX, formally of Athol, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020 at St. David’s Hospital in Austin, TX. He was born in Clinton on March 27, 1963, son of the late Anthony P. Danek and Natalie J. Danek of Orange. James graduated in 1982 from Gateway Regional High School, Huntington, MA. He served in the US Navy from June 1982 to September 1982. He was an avid chess and bingo player. He is survived by his mother, Natalie J. Danek of Orange; brothers, William C. Ames of Dennisport, David Danek of Westfield, Anthony Danek of Westfield; sisters, Karen M. Basilone of West Springfield, Elizabeth Danek of Fredericksburg, VA, Ingeborg Danek, and Heidi Sizemore of Alpharetta, GA; as well as aunts, uncles, and cousins. His father, Anthony P. Danek, grandfather, Harold W. Proctor, and grandmother, Priscilla G (Fisher) Proctor preceded him in death. A private service and burial will be scheduled at a later date.
