James passed away peacefully at Tufts Medical Center, Boston on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at the age of 75. James' brother Gary was at his bedside.
Born in Gardner, MA on October 15, 1948 the son of the late Joseph C. DuBois and Lucille Marie (Chiasson) DuBois.
James lived in Athol most if his life, working at the Union Twist Drill and Athol Table Shop. He spent a few years on the Maine coast fishing and clamming, enjoyed playing his guitar, loved his family, and had a special place in his heart for the Quabbin Reservoir.
James is survived by his daughter, Jessica Hope DuBois-Howell, her husband Abe, and a granddaughter Madison Marie of Colorado Springs. He is also survived by his three siblings, Richard DuBois of Tampa, Gary DuBois of Pocasset, MA and his sister, Sandra Towne of Milford, NH, along with several nephews and nieces, Rick DuBois, Jean Fay, David DuBois (the late Maryann Coulter), Glenn DuBois, Teri Baldassaro, and Deb Wallace.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady Immaculate Church, 192 School Street, Athol, MA followed by a burial at Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol, MA
A Celebration of Life will follow at The North Quabbin Catholic CCD Center, 925 Main Street, Athol, MA, Please enter via Riverbend Street to enter the parking lot.
