James Joseph Czupryna

March 14, 1944 — July 19, 2021

ATHOL-James Joseph Czupryna, 77, died peacefully, Monday, July 19, 2021 at his home after a brief illness. He leaves his wife Dorothy H. (Gardner) Czupryna; one daughter, Donna Czupryna of Australia; one grandson, Keenan; one granddaughter, Tya; twin sisters, Mary Kenney of Quincy and Margaret (Behan) Williams of Bethel, ME and one special cousin Chris Deluca. He leaves close cousins Bob, Richard and Barbara Brady (Czupryna). He had many loving and helpful nieces and nephews, and their children, all of whom he adored. He is predeceased by a brother, Frederick Czupryna; two sisters, Judith Smith and Virginia Sullivan. He was born in Boston on March 14, 1944 a son of the late Frederick S.and Agnes T. ( Rafferty) Czupryna. Jim graduated from Boston Latin High School and had taken many real estate courses over his lifetime. He served in the Massachusetts Air National Guard during the Cuban Missile Crisis and taught courses in Slovenia. James served on many different boards and committees having to do with real estate appraisals. He served on the Governing Board of Appraisers, and was respected in his field, known especially for his integrity. His witty oration of life kept everyone entertained and woven together. He had a fondness for trains and travel took him all over the world. He particularly enjoyed the ocean, Thanksgiving was the most special holiday because his family filled the house with love. Jim highly valued all of his family and friends, near and far, and everyone truly mattered to him. He showed deep loyalty to his wife, daughter, and daughter’s children. A celebration of life for Jim will be held for close family and friends.
