Ida Waslaske, 102, died in Quabbin Valley Healthcare on Saturday, August 12, 2023.
She was born at home in the farmhouse in which she lived all her life. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha (Baskaitis) Waslaske.
She attended Athol schools and worked at the Union Twist Drill Corporation and retired early to pursue a life as an artist. She was a member of the Old Deerfield Artists Group and painted with them for many years. Ida was featured in the "American Artist Magazine".
She is predeceased by twin sisters, Anna Waslaske and Mary Rose; two brothers, Peter and Charles Waslaske.
She leaves several nieces and a nephew.
She was a member of the Third Order of Franciscans and will be buried in the Franciscan Robe.
A calling hour will be held on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 9:00AM-10:00AM at Fiske-Murphy & Mack Funeral Home, 110 New Athol Road, Orange.
A Funeral Mass will be held following the calling hour in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 101 Main Street, Athol at 10:30 AM.
A graveside service will follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Fielding Way, Athol
