Dec 27, 1946 — Aug 15, 2026

Athol

Harry E. Foster, Sr., born on December 27, 1946 in Athol, MA the son of Harry L. Foster and Mary E. (Coyne) Scalf.

In his younger years he moved to Chicago for several years, and eventually made his way back to Athol. It was at that time he met the love of his life, his soul mate Maryann. They met as teenagers and it quickly became one never leaving the other's side, lasting for over 64 loving years.

Harry's love for her was never ending. He dedicated every moment of his life to making her happy. Their story is a love story straight out of a fairytale, it was real, so very real. Together forever for eternity.

Harry and Maryann's love blossomed into a family he cherished. It started with the birth of Cindy. He was a natural loving father from the moment of her birth .

Just as their love continued to grow, so did their family. And... along came Harry, his only son . Many years later the family was thrilled with the birth of the youngest Foster ...Elisabeth.

With the family complete, they spent many years going to York Beach, Maine in the summers, the White Mountains, canoeing and fishing and a lifetime of adventures.

Harry will be remembered as a phenomenal, dedicated and loving man . Always there for everyone and so generous with his time . He touched so many lives . As a grandfather and great-grandfather he never missed a sports game, dance recital or play. He was there front row for everything .

Harry and Maryann loved spending time together, sitting quietly, going out to dinner and really enjoyed their trips to the casinos. They were always together, forever for eternity.

Harry worked for 56 years as a foreman for multiple departments at a local precision tool maker in Athol. He often said "how much he enjoyed working there when it was locally owned. After the company changed ownership , he felt the changes in the workplace left him uncertain about the factory's future in Athol, Time will tell."

Harry leaves behind his beloved soulmate and wife, Maryann Foster, his three children, Cindy, Harry, and Elisabeth his five grandchildren, Jacob(Nick),Jackie(Courtney),Julie( Joshua), Noah, Hannah and his great-grandson Oliver. He also leaves behind his favorite brother Richard and his wonderful step mother, Pauline.

He was predeceased by his parents, Harry L. Foster and Mary E. Scalf.

He will be deeply missed!
