Geraldine O. Dorval, 98, died Thursday, June 19, 2025, at The Lydia Taft House in Uxbridge, MA. Geraldine was born in Gardner on April 21, 1927, the daughter of the late Hector and Olive (LeBlanc) Dorval. She was a graduate of Gardner High School in 1946. Geraldine was employed at Goodnow-Pearsen Co., the First National Bank, Tipton Buick Co., and New England Telephone and Telegraph for nearly 20 years.
Geraldine is survived by her brother, Richard Dorval and his wife Linda of North Carolina. Geraldine is also survived by many nephews and nieces. Her sisters, Jeannette Romansko and Carol Smith, and her brothers, Ralph, Raymond, Leonard, and Rene predeceased Gerry years ago. Geraldine and especially her brother Leonard had similar interests: the Gardner Museum, Bridge playing, knitting, antiquing, going to the casino, and being members of AARP.
Geraldine would like thank all of her nieces and nephews and, to give special thanks to her nephew Daniel Dorval who was an enormous help to her and Leonard for many years. In addition, the family recognizes and appreciates the entire staff of The Lydia Taft House for all the excellent care they provided.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at 11 A.M in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell St., Gardner, all attending are asked to go directly to the church. Following the mass burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, West Street, Gardner.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Holy Spirit Church or the Gardner Museum, 28 Pearl Street, Gardner, MA 01440.
