Athol

Frank Wagner Goldman, affectionately known as Dad, Papa, or Frankie, unexpectedly passed away on October 25, 2026. Frank was born on March 2, 1952, in New Haven, Connecticut to Hubert and Kathleen Goldman (Wagner).

A generous, kind, and reliable soul, Frank spent his life dedicated to his family and his work. He was a talented technical support specialist for a leading fire alarm company, where he worked for his entire career, for well over 40 years. Frank and his family, his wife Cynthia, alongside his sons, Christopher and Gregory, settled in Athol, Massachusetts in 1987 from Columbus, Ohio. It is here where he really enjoyed nurturing his love for gardening and fixing things around the house, as there was always something to do.

Frank was a intelligent man who found joy in some of the calmer pleasures in life, such as traveling, watching television, camping at Fish Creek in the Adirondacks, and most importantly, spending time at the family cottage in Connecticut. His presence will be deeply missed by those who had the pleasure of joining him around a campfire or sharing a fishing trip.

An introvert by nature, Frank found solace in trying new cooking recipes, fixing things around the house, and taking care of his family. He always made sure his family was taken care of, first and foremost. Growing up in the shadow of the Yankees dynasty in the 1950s, he more than willingly converted to a Red Sox fan during his time in Massachusetts, knowing what was right.

Frank leaves behind his loving family; his wife and two sons; his cherished grandchildren, James and Teagan. He is also survived by his brother, James Goldman of Connecticut, his sister-in-law Linda of Connecticut, and eight nieces (but no nephews weirdly). Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings; Hubert "Herb" Jr. Goldman and Sister Gertrude "Trudy" Goldman, as well as his sister-in-law, Gloria, and his brother-in-law, Thomas "Tom", of Ohio.

Frank will be missed dearly by all those who knew him.
