Evelyn M. Halkola

HUBBARDSTON- Evelyn “Susie” M. (Rudis) Halkola, 75, of Hubbardston , died peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, November 6, 2023.

Born in Worcester on November 17, 1947, she was the daughter of Frank and Gertrude (Edquist) Rudis.  Susie worked over thirty years at W.C. Cranston and Son in West Boylston, Ma.  It was more than a job it was a family.

Susie is survived by her daughter Kristen Halkola, who was her devoted caretaker, her son Jimmy and his wife, Shelley Halkola and her adored granddaughter Laney Halkola.  Her beloved sister and best friend Marilyn Cranston, her nephew Jeffery(Cathy) Cranston and niece Mindy(Barry) Esteves including their children Melanie, Haley, Adam and Justin not forgetting the newest member of the family Brynn.

She was predeceased by the love of her life Marcus “Butch” Halkola, her parents Frank and Gertrude Rudis and her brother-in-law Robert “Bobby” Cranston.

Celebration of Life will be held on November 18, 2023, from 3pm-6pm at KRO’s on the Common, 10 Baldwinville Road, Templeton, Ma. 01468.  One of Susie’s favorite songs was “Forever in Blue Jeans”, so wear your favorite pair and join us in an afternoon of stories and laughter.  A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

Melanie, Mindy and Shelley, Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything!  If a Butterfly, Dragonfly, Red Cardinal or a Sea Turtle enter your life, even for just a minute, remember that someone is watching over you.

Always remember, “When you stumble, make it part of the Dance.”
