Gardner

Ely Gemborys, 41, beloved son, parent, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on December 23rd, 2022, after a courageous battle with a lifelong illness. He was born on March 24th, 1981, in Gardner, Massachusetts, to Brian Gemborys and Cynthia Brown.

He attended Quabbin Regional High School in Barre and went on to enjoy a 25-year career as a multi-skilled tradesman. His green thumb and keen eye for design made him a successful contract landscaper, and he later became a licensed arborist and ground mason. With great pride, he co-founded the company Gemborys Landscape and Construction, and his masterful, personalized installations are enjoyed by many throughout New England.

Central to his life was his appreciation for nature. He spent his time enjoying the outdoors, adventuring in the woods with family and friends, and trading stories around campfires. He found joy in the simple pleasures of great food, great company, and great music. He enjoyed many rounds of frisbee golf, Scrabble with his Gram, and family cookouts.  Above all else, Ely loved his son Dylan. Nothing made him happier than spending time with him and seeing him grow into the spectacular young man that he is.  Ely’s lighthearted sense of humor drew people to him, and his authentic, accepting nature kept them coming back for more. He was sweet, kind, and incredibly brave.

We will always remember his resilience and our profound love for him.  He is survived by his son Dylan Gemborys of Lunenburg; mother Cynthia Brown of Westminster; father Brian Gemborys and wife Rachel of Gardner; siblings Joshua, Ethan, Abbey, Lisa, Hazel, and Dane; grandmothers Eunice Arcangeli and Katherine Gemborys; and many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A private family ceremony will be held on January7th at Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner.
