Edward G. Brouillet, 77, of Westminster, died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Dec 31, 2023.
Eddie was born in Leominster, the son of Wilfred and Helen Brouillet who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Rhea (Cookie) Ford and Donna Brouillet.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Peggy; his sister, Cathy Brouillet from Provincetown, MA; three daughters, Beverly Wiles of Gardner, Donna Burton of
Ashburnham, Cheryl King of Tampa, Florida; two stepsons, Jeffrey Kimmel of Athol, Aaron Kimmel of Stoneham, MA; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Eddie worked at General Electric in Fitchburg for over 20 years as a welder. He studied hard and was very proud to become an EMT. He worked for several different local ambulance companies in the Fitchburg area. He also loved skiing and worked on ski patrol and in first aide at Wachusett Ski Mountain. He was an avid motorcycle rider. He became a member of the Red Knights International Firefighters Motorcycle Club in 1983 and was a member for 40 years. During the time he held several offices among which were President of the local chapter for 10 years and International President for 8 years.
He was always there to help when anyone needed it. After the storage Fire in Worcester, in which 6 firefighters were killed, He and his good friend Steve Mickle did a benefit ride to the four corners of the United States during which time they raised $10,000 for the Worcester Firefighter's Memorial.
He was a member of the Princeton Fire Dept. until we moved to Westminster in 1986. Then he worked with the Westminster Fire Dept. |
He has touched many lives, and he will be missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, you can send donations to the Always There Homecare Agency 75 Great Rd. #204 Acton, Ma. 01720 who made it possible for Ed to be home during the past few years of illness.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 10:30 am in the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner. Burial will be private at a later date.
Calling Hours will be held at Mack Family Funeral Home on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 3 – 7 p.m.
