Gardner – Edmund (Gus) J. Landry, 93, of Gardner, Ma. passed away on August 18, 2025.

He was born on March 25, 1932, in Ashburnham, the son of Edgar and Melina (Morse) Landry. Edmund (Gus) was a respected figure in his hometown Gardner. He was a man of integrity known for his commitment to the people and institutions he held dear.

Edmund (Gus) was a foreman who served the furniture industry with distinction. He worked at the former George S. Bent Company, the O’Hearn Furniture Company, and the Ethan Allen Furniture Company in Ashburnham. His reliability and loyalty were evident in his service to his employers and colleagues, earning him respect and admiration.

He was a member of the Holy Rosary Church, the American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans.

Edmund’s early years were spent in Ashburnham, where he grew up and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1950. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, exemplifying his dedication and loyalty to his country.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel A. (Gingras) Landry, by two sisters, Theresa Phelps, and Eloise Sanson.

Edmund (Gus) is survived by his sister Elaine Erickson, several nephews and nieces, as well as many great nephews and great nieces.

Edmund (Gus) loved skiing, hockey, gardening, and New England Patriots where he held season tickets from the beginning when they use to play at Fenway Park, He especially enjoyed attending Gardner High School Baseball games for many years as well as Legion Baseball games.

Edmund (Gus) will always be remembered for his reliability, dedication, and loyalty and his great sense of humor. His life was a testament to the values he held dear. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
