Douglas S. Smith

HUBBARDSTON- Douglas S. Smith, 68, of Hubbardston, died Wednesday, May 20, in his home. Douglas was born April 7, 1952 in Malden, son of the late Bernard J. and the late Betty (Parsons) Smith. Doug was a mason by trade and retired after completing the big dig project. AA was his life and maintained his sobriety for the past 23 years. He enjoyed fishing very much. His wife of 30 years, Sandra (Bergeron) Smith, died July 2, 2012. He leaves two brothers, Michael D. Smith and wife, Susan of Bennington, NH And Ronald J. Smith; and four grandchildren, Ryan Rocheleau, Samantha Scipione, Eric Scipione and Rebecca Scipione. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, The Salvation Army National Headquarters, 615 Slaters Lane, Alexandria, VA 22314, or any A.A. members may make a memorial contribution to A.A., Genera Service Office, Box 459, Central Station, New York, NY 10163 or by visiting aa.org.
