Gardner-Douglas Earl Duncklee, 92, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

He was born on December 11, 1933, in Athol, a son of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Rounds, Whitman) Duncklee, and lived in Gardner most of his life. Douglas graduated from Athol High School in 1951

He served in the U.S Army, stationed in Germany during the occupation in the American Sector, and received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Occupation of Germany Medal. While in the Army, he attended the University of Maryland. He also attended Mount Wachusett Community College and Lowell University.

He was employed by Simplex Time Recorder for 38 years retiring in 1995 as Manager of the System and Time Recorder divisions and the Shipping and Receiving Departments.

He was a member of the Chestnut Street United Methodist Church in Gardner, a benefit member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 747, and an associate member of the American Legion Post 129.

He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Gail (Woodard) Duncklee, on March 9, 2017. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Caroline F. Duncklee, Shirley E. Lieberman, Beverly J. Parady, and a brother, Norman W. Duncklee.

He leaves two daughters, Kimberly A. Grosso and Karen D. Perini, a granddaughter Paige L. McCrary, grandsons Michael V. Grosso, Joshua D. Grosso, Kane W. Perini and his fiancée Rielley Richards, and Kipp A. Perini, great-granddaughters Gianna, McKenna, Gabriella, Chloe, Aubrey, and Rylee, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475.
