Doris Rose Draleaus, 94, of Gardner, MA, died after being stricken ill at home.

Born In Lunenburg, MA on December 22, 1929, she was the daughter of  Hormisdas and Rose Legros. She attended school in Lunenburg, and was an avid swimmer, winning medals for her swims at Whalom Lake. She was a long time member of St. Francis of Assisi, active in parish and school activities, from cheerleading coach to Scout leader.  After the passing of her husband, she purchased a home in Westminster MA, where she tended 40 blueberry bushes, other fruit trees, and flowers, enjoying nature - all in her very own backyard.

Doris could be seen volunteering and participating in small town life, known for her baking, particularly for the Westminster Police and Fire departments. Cribbage and Bingo were her outlets, and though she had many friends wherever she went, the ones at the Westminster Senior Center were special to her. She loved to entertain, hosting many back yard gatherings, as her best times were spent with family and friends.
