It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Donald Robert Schlicke on July 3, 2025. Born on May 10, 1953, in Gardner, MA, and a lifelong resident of Phillipston, MA, his presence will be deeply missed. His witty nature, paired with his generous spirit and humble heart, made him a cherished individual in our lives and his community.
Donald was a man of many talents and passions. Over the course of his working career, he was a chef, an agriculturalist, a leader in supporting those with special needs, and a hardworking team member of several local businesses who retired with the satisfaction of a job well done. He was a magnetic character whose generosity of spirit was felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His intelligence, wit and humor were his trademarks, lightening the atmosphere and bringing a smile to everyone's faces. But above all, Don was a humble man. He lived his life in a quiet and unassuming manner, always ready to lend a helping hand, always available to those in need.
Donald leaves behind his sisters Susan Ziats (Joe) and Cindy Coppolino (Nick) and his brother Kevin (Gail), and several cousins, nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the beautiful memories they shared with him. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Schlicke, his mother Lenore (Murdock) Schlicke, and his brother Steven Schlicke. His memory will continue to inspire and guide us as we remember a man who truly lived a life worth celebrating.
