Maureen was born on June 16, 1947, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Maureen's life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and a vibrant spirit. She lived her life with an abiding love for her family. She married her beloved husband Cornelius J. Twomey on August 10, 1969, and they were married for 47 years!
Maureen's journey took her from the classrooms of Holy Trinity High School in Maryland, where she graduated, to the offices of AVOC - Textron in Wilmington, Massachusetts. Her diligent work as a secretary demonstrated her commitment and dedication. After retiring in 1969, Maureen shifted her focus to the joys of motherhood and the simple pleasures of life. Her love for her son, Tyler, was evident in how she cherished every moment spent with him, whether watching TV or simply enjoying a quiet afternoon together.
Cornelius graduated from Cardinal Gibbons High School and earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Merrimack College. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Cornelius worked for AIHS as a hospital administrator for many years. Cornelius enjoyed fishing, reading Tom Clancey novels, eating crabs and shrimp, and watching Jeopardy. He will be remembered as a loving and dedicated husband and father.
In the words of Henry Van Dyke, "Some people are so much sunshine to the square inch." Maureen was one such person, her love radiated warmth that touched everyone she knew.
