Clovine Elise Rose (Letourneau) Sahagian

Clovine Elsie Rose Letourneau Sahagian, 83, of Athol, passed away Monday, August 10, 2026, at The Highlands Nursing Home. She was born October 20, 1942, in Orleans, Vermont, to Clovis Letourneau and Elsie Chicoine Letourneau. Clovine was a devoted wife to her husband, Arthur, for 21 years, as well as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was also a retired hairdresser.

She is survived by her children, Kevin Sahagian of Easthampton, MA, and Kristen Furnari and her husband, Joseph, of Windham, NH; her sister, Josephine Cronin; her brother, Norman Letourneau and his wife, Laurie; her sister-in-law, Mary Marshall and her husband, William; three grandchildren, Madison, Payton, and Nicholas; a bonus grandchild, Andie Hall; her sisters-in-law, Lois Morris, Joanne Sahagian and Judy Powling and her husband, Jerold; her brother-in-law, Robert Barrus; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arthur Sahagian; her brother, Norman Letourneau, who died in infancy; her brother, Roland Letourneau; her sisters, Pauline Wilcox, Jeannine Newcomb, Ruth Ann “Dolly” Letourneau, Germaine Dagenais, and Francine Tobin; her brothers-in-law, Samuel Sahagian and William Morris; and her sister-in-law, Shirley Barrus.

Clovine had a strong faith in God and was an active member of Saint Francis Catholic Church in Athol. She enjoyed serving others through the church, including helping with the weekly Sharing Our Father's Bread meal coordinating the annual Christmas fair.

Clovine worked at Hair Fashions for more than 20 years, developing many wonderful relationships with customers, many of whom became like family. Even after Hair Fashions closed, she continued to do hair for friends, family, and anyone who needed a favor. It was not unusual to find someone in her kitchen receiving a haircut or perm.

Clovine was a devoted caregiver to her husband, parents and sister, always putting their needs before her own and helping them make their final years as comfortable as possible. After losing her husband, she continued forward with strength, faith, and determination, providing a wonderful example to her children of how to face life’s challenges with grace and perseverance.

Above all, Clovine's greatest joy was her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending their games, events, activities or church sacraments when she could be there. She was their biggest cheerleader, and they always knew how deeply they were loved.

Clovine found great joy in the simple things in life. She was incredibly proud of her son's restaurant and loved visiting and supporting him there. She enjoyed playing Skip-Bo, having coffee with her friends, the comradery of the Red Hatters, caring for her home, and decorating for every holiday she created a warm and welcoming place for her family.

Clovine leaves behind a legacy of faith, strength, generosity, and love. She spent her life caring for others, finding joy in the people around her, and showing her family through her actions what it means to persevere through difficult times. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those whose lives she touched.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, October 5, 2026 at 10:00 AM at Saint Francis Church, 101 Main St., Athol, MA. She will be buried at North Cemetery, 126 Main St., Orange, MA.
