Clara Zetkowsky

WINCHENDON - Clara Zetkowsky, 86, of 547 Central Street, Winchendon and formerly of Gardner, died Sunday, June 27, 2010 at home after an illness. She was born in Shenandoah, Pennsylvania, on June 4, 1924, the daughter of Frank and Stella (Pachuski) Zetkowsky. Clara resided in Gardner nearly all of her life and graduated from Gardner High School with the class of 1942. She worked for the former Nichols and Stone Company in Gardner as a Secretary for over forty years until her retirement in 1991. Clara was a communicant of Holy Spirit Church in Gardner and a member of the Community of Love Prayer Group in East Templeton. She enjoyed reading and was devoted to her Catholic faith and very active with her church over the years. She leaves two nieces, Beverly Johnson of Athol, Brenda Duval of Winchendon; a nephew, Alan Kirby of Hollis, NH; and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Clara was predeceased by her six sisters and by one brother. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell St., Gardner. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Gardner. A calling hour will be held Wednesday, June 30, 2010 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Poliks Funeral Home, 431 Pleasant Street, Gardner, MA 01440. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to Holy Spirit Church, 50 Lovewell St., Gardner, MA 01440. $(document).ready(function(){ });
